Does anyone by chance know of a multi-fuel cook stove that will let you convert from wood to gas. I'd like to find a stove like the Rayburn Heatranger that works for cooking, hot water, heating in the winter but with the ability to pull the grates and install gas burner elements in the summer. I live in KY where it gets up in the 90s on a regular basis in the summer, so having a wood fire burning all the time, or even just starting a fire to heat the oven to cook in the summer is impractical... I know a lot of people keep a Rayburn for the winter and use a conventional gas range in the summer but it would be nice to save space by having only one stove.

If you have the space in the kitchen then you could have a wood burning cooker for the winter months that would do all your heating needs etc., then a separate gas hob or cooker for the summer. Many french kitchens are fitted out thus. Or as bwaymark1 says go for the BBQ - that has drawbacks though, can't bake cakes and stuff on a BBQ.

Maybe you can't bake cakes on a bbq, but you could (if you have space) always build a brick oven in the garden (like Jamie Oliver).

As to the original question, I can't think of a unit like this, and aga only do the companion range so you get the same look as the wood burner but with an electric oven and gas hobs.

Also im not sure what the laws are live in the US. But in the UK you need to have a qualified fitter to connect to a gas supply, and you may find that every time you wanted to connect (or dis-connect) the gas element you might need to get someone in to do it, which would be quite an expense twice a year.
The other issue could be the venting of the gas fumes, Im no expert but I would check out if you can vent gas fumes with solid fuel smoke etc (it might be some legal issues)
