Za'atar
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons Ground Thyme
3 Teaspoons Ground Oregano
2 Teaspoons Ground Savoury
2 Teaspoons Ground Majoram
1/2 Teaspoon Whole Leaf Dried Marjoram
1/2 Cup Sesame Seeds - Lightly Toasted
1 and 1/2 Teaspoons Course Salt
Finely Grated Zest of 2 Lemons
(If you have Ground Sumac this can be used in place of Lemon).
Combine all the Ingredients.
This will keep for a month stored in an airtight container.
Delicious with Pitta Bread
Brush Pitta with Olive oil and spread Za'atar on top - warm in oven.
Can be used also with Houmous, Jacket Potatoes etc.etc. |
