Breed Description
This alert, active little bird originates from the Arauca province of Northern Chile and is particularly rare in the black/red colour. A very hardy species, with muffling around the face and ears. Araucanas are prolific layers of beautiful, strong shelled green or blue eggs, unusual because their colour permeates right the way through the shell (The contents are the same!). We find that children love the eggs, which also make a unique and much appreciated gift for friends and family.
